About

Edward peak acknowledging applause in St Georges HallL’Orchestra dell’Arte is a group of highly talented musicians performing as a salon or symphony orchestra, be it for intimate musical evenings or full-scale concert performances. Founded in 2010, the Orchestra has played concerts across the Northwest, including in Heswall, Prescot, Birkenhead and Southport, offering a very wide range of popular classical, romantic and themed repertoire. Programmes have included the work of a great many composers – from Mozart and Beethoven to Rimsky-Korsakov and Saint-Saens. Viennese evenings and concerts of light music including music from film, radio and television have added to the musical diversity and have always proved very popular. In 2013 the Orchestra became the Orchestra in Residence at St George’s Hall, Liverpool and celebrated its 10th Anniversary Season there with some world-class soloists in 2019-2020.

10-Jul-13-2One of the Orchestra’s key features is the flexibility its players employ to create smaller ensembles of every shape and size – from trios and quartets to octets and nonets – encompassing many different instrumental combinations and musical styles. This approach is well illustrated in the Sunday Serenade concerts and recitals performed in more intimate and informal surroundings.

DSC_0344-crop-comp-wWhile the Orchestra plans and performs its own concert series, it is always happy to consider suggestions and proposals, not only for full-scale concerts but also for chamber music performances and recitals, perhaps for particular events such weddings and garden parties. So, whether your musical taste is for opera or the musicals we will always be pleased to hear from you. Indeed, the Orchestra is also able to consider delivering educational activities such as illustrated lectures and talks for specific audiences and may be able to arrange one-to-one instrumental lessons from beginner to college entry level. It is never too late to learn about music and to enjoy playing, particularly in the company of like-minded people.
