Louise Dickinson

Louise takes Huddersfield by storm

DSC_0106--crop2-comp-wAt a concert at St George’s Hall back in November Louise Dickinson demonstrated that she had an additional string to her bow when she stepped out from her place in the  ODA violin section to sing Mozart’s Voi che sapete in place of mezzo soprano, Kathryn Rudge, who was unfortunately unable to perform on that occasion through illness. Louise’s performance was enthusiastically received both by the audience and her friends in the orchestra and will be very fondly remembered.

Not content with that, on Saturday 18th February Louise took the Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival 2017 by storm, winning trophies in the Lieder, Oratorio and Operatic Aria classes. As a winner of a qualifying class she also got to sing for the overall competition trophy – and won!

All her friends at the ODA are delighted with her success and extend their hearty congratulations. However, Louise is quick to transfer significant credit to Caroline Crawshaw with whom she has been studying singing in recent years. As a consequence of her success she has been invited by the Mayor of Huddersfield to sing at a gala concert to mark the end of the festival.
